Changing Tracks: Philomena O'Brien
- Published in Changing Tracks
Philomena O’Brien came to the United States when she was just 5 years old. In her new homeland, her family frequented “Irish” get togethers where alcohol, food and singing abounded to the point that the situation often got out of control. Following her difficult childhood, she came up against a marriage even more difficult where alcohol continued to abound. The party environment she frequented led her far from God. It wasn’t until a good friend of hers brought her back to the Church that she experienced the need to go to confession and renew her relationship with the Lord.
